About VFA

Vertical Fitness was one of the first two Pole Schools in Melbourne and has been running for over 6 years. It was created by Ro as a pioneering option for exercise for ladies from all walks of life. We have students still attending classes now that started with us in our conception back in 2005. We believe that Pole Fitness is a sport that can be enjoyed by ladies of all ages and fitness levels and always welcome any new students with open arms.

Our Head Instructor

Has been pole dancing since 1999 and has extensive experience in the Pole Industry. Her career started as a Showgirl performing feature shows at various venues around Melbourne, where her love for the stage and a passion for the pole developed. After 6 years of performing, she retired to have a child (she swears by Pole dancing to get your body back in shape post baby!). She believes it allows the everyday lady the opportunity to learn the Art of Pole and allow people to see Pole Fitness for the health benefits. She loves her job and takes pride in welcoming ladies from all walks of life to try what she has dedicated her life to. A talented pole performer and an amazing teacher, she makes learning Pole fun and exciting.

I have being doing classes at Vertical Fitness Australia for 4 years now and have being in the dance troupe for 3 years. I attend classes up to 4-5 times a week including boot camp, troupe training and just regular pole classes. I always look forward to going to class. I have made lots of friends over the years of coming to Vertical Fitness Australia. VFA is awesome and always inspires me to work/ train harder; it makes working out great fun. The class sizes are kept small which makes it great as the instructors help out more and you don't get lost in the crowd. It is such a warm friendly environment where VFA make an effort to get to know the students and are always happy to help out when needed. Pole dancing has changed my life don't know how I lived without it. Thanks VFA. Love you guys. Xx

I started with Vertical Fitness Australia 8 months ago having no previous dance experience. I started out doing one class a week for fitness and am now a part of the VF Dance Troupe; I'm now at the studio 4 times a week for various training and specialty classes. The instructors have been very patient with me and I have learnt so much in this time. Classes are kept small and very personal with everyone being taught at their own level. She always keeps it fun and interesting and there is always something new to look forward to.

I started pole dancing at Vertical Fitness Australia only 5 months ago to gain a little self confidence and have some fun... my upper body strength has dramatically increased (more so than I ever imagined possible, even after years spent at the gym) and provided me with the confidence I’ve always dreamed of having.  What's so unique about Vertical Fitness is it's fun and friendly way of teaching. Everyone learns at their own pace and it’s so rewarding learning a new trick almost every week!  Who would have thought getting toned and losing weight could be so much fun whilst gaining self confidence and learning some awesome moves.

I started pole dancing early this year. I come from a dancing background but wanted to try something new and challenging. Well I certainly found challenge with Vertical Fitness Australia! The strength and fitness I have achieved has been awesome and it is so much fun! It is a completely different art form to any other dancing I have done, its sexy and great fun. You get to learn alongside other great girls and it's something to look forward to in your working week! Gives me a great boost when I get a new trick or spin! :-)

I started attending classes for a bit of extra fitness and to boost my confidence. With no coordination, previous dance experience or upper body strength, it was surprising how much I enjoyed the classes. The instructors are patient, makes it fun and they are so understanding in everyone’s different abilities. Because of the size of the... classes they are on a much more personal level, the instructors are able to work closely with the students so no one feels left out. She is able to get to know them on a much more personal level and builds ties with everyone. It's been so much fun and Vertical Fitness Australia has taught me a lot along the way. It is always great fun and something to look forward to.

I am a personal trainer and mum. I started pole dancing at Vertical Fitness as a way of doing something with my with my daughter that would be fun, different and get her active. That was 5 years ago, and I’m still here! Vertical Fitness is like family! I love that there are always new challenges, it works my body differently to my other training, and it is so much fun! Everybody is always so supportive, and what I loved about the environment for my teenage daughter was the fact that she got to see women of all ages’ shapes and size feeling sexy and comfortable in their own skins! I would recommend it to anyone- The VFA team is so patient, supportive and inspiring- you will feel like a pole star in no time!!
